CSAFE April 2019 Center Wide Webinar

Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm CDT

CSAFE invites researchers, collaborators, and members of the broader forensics and statistics communities to participate in the April Center Wide Webinar on Tuesday, April 2 at 1:00 pm CST. We will have a short introduction from CSAFE Program Manager Stacy Renfro followed by the presentation “How Jurors Evaluate Fingerprint Evidence” by Brandon Garrett, CSAFE researcher and the L. Neil Williams Professor of Law at Duke University.

Webinar Description:  The way jurors examine the reliability of forensic evidence, such as fingerprints, during trial proceedings remains an important question in forensic science. Recent studies have explored new ways to convey information to potential jurors. This webinar will examine how potential jurors respond to these novel methods and explore ways to better educate jurors on the strength and limitations of forensic conclusions.
