The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has announced registration is now open for Forensics@NIST. The virtual event will be held Nov. 18-20.

Forensics@NIST is an opportunity for the public to learn how NIST scientists use advanced methods in metrology, computer science and statistics to strengthen forensic science. The agenda covers a wide range of topics such as biometrics, digital and multimedia, firearms and toolmarks and more. Attendees will be able to ask questions after each session.

The Center for Statistics and Applications in Forensic Evidence (CSAFE), a NIST Center of Excellence, will present Nov. 20 from 9–10:45 a.m. EST. Titled “Enhancing Forensics Through Innovation, Tools, and Training,” this 90-minute session will showcase the resources CSAFE offers to the forensic science community, including a suite of open-source software tools and various educational opportunities.
