Researchers Release New Public Handwriting Database

The CSAFE data portal continues to grow as researchers release a new handwriting database. This interactive, public database of 2430 handwriting samples promotes the development of new statistical approaches to the evaluation of handwriting as forensic evidence.

CSAFE encourages researchers, practitioners and other colleagues to both distribute the dataset and implement the samples into their own investigations. Published under license CC-BY 4.02, anyone can build upon the data as long credit for original creation is noted.

Access the database and review full details in a resource guide in the CSAFE Data Portal. Researchers also published a new Data in Brief paper that takes a closer look at the data collection process and database development. Learn more in the February 2020 publication.
