CSAFE on Capitol Hill: Save the Date for a Congressional Briefing

The CSAFE Leadership Team invites you to attend our second Congressional Briefing in Washington D.C. on October 16, 2019. Join our team on Capitol Hill to help increase support for the forensic science and legal communities. The briefing will be held from 12:00-2:00 pm in Rayburn House Office Building Room 2253. RSVP here.

Briefing attendees will learn more about CSAFE research advancements in evidence analysis procedures, as well as how our training programs can help your team apply statistical strategies to your forensic examinations.

The event will feature remarks by CSAFE Director Alicia Carriquiry, followed by Lynn Garcia, General Counsel, Texas Forensic Science Commission and Julia Leighton, General Counsel (retired), DC Public Defender Service.

CSAFE is an independent organization conducting research in statistical foundations of pattern and digital evidence. As such, we are able to fill an important need by developing tools that enable forensic scientists to more objectively analyze and interpret evidence. Our center has developed effective outreach and communication with the forensics and legal communities and provides training free of charge.

Continued funding of this important work allows CSAFE to implement the new technology in collaboration with crime labs across the country. We hope you will consider joining us for this vital discussion.
