Hal Stern, University of California, Irvine Statistics Professor and CSAFE Co-Director will lead a workshop at the 2017 International Forensic Educational Conference sponsored by the International Association for Identification to be held in Atlanta, Georgia August 6-12. Stern will address the critical need to advance statistical literacy among forensic science practitioners. His presentation will focus on improving practitioner’s understanding involving statistical concepts such as hypotheses, error rates, and likelihood ratios to increase participation in ongoing discussion in the forensic community regarding appropriate standards for reporting and testimony.
