Alliance for Iowa State Shares CSAFE Mission with State Legislators and Public Policy Makers

The Alliance for Iowa State at Iowa State University recently highlighted CSAFE in an effort to engage advocates throughout the state. As a coalition of Iowa State University alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends the Alliance for Iowa State advocates Iowa State University’s land grant mission throughout Iowa while focusing its advocacy on state legislators and public policy makers.

The CSAFE article was sent to over 200,000 individuals to raise awareness of CSAFE’s critical mission to build a statistically sound and scientifically solid foundation for the analysis and interpretation of forensic evidence. The Alliance for Iowa State plays a key role in garnering support for the educational, research and economic development capabilities of key Iowa State University programs.

From the article:

“Engagement with legal and forensic communities has been very well received,” said Alicia Carriquiry, CSAFE director and professor of statistics at Iowa State University. “They want to be better at their jobs, and we want to help them. Building and applying a statistically sound and scientifically solid foundation for the analysis and interpretation of forensic evidence has the potential to significantly impact society.”
